Hi, I just found your blog, and would like to respond to the previous post. You are sooo right. People can't wrap their brain around the concept of professional quality goods being made by an individual at home. I grew up hearing the word "homemade" as a negative adjective. It's not. For whatever reason, "homemade" has taken on the context of inferior. We know better, don't we? I blame the "quick and dirty" school of home sewers for this. I am a hand quilter, hand appliquer, and by far the majority of "quilters" out there do not hand quilt. They don't even machine quilt. What they do is slap together a shoddy top, then send it out for someone else to machine quilt. Thanks for addressing the subject. Your work is lovely. Michele
Needle vs Thread is all about beautiful and practical bags, purses, homewares and accessories made by a girl who is just a little bit pedantic about making sure things are top-stitched, sewn straight, reinforced, centered, spaced evenly, and as perfect as she can get them!
